Feel free to contact Microsoft and ask them to fix this, though (and maybe ask them to change the behaviour of shared mailboxes so the 'From' address is used if you have the shared mailbox open when you compose a message, since that's unintuitive as well!). If you need to add two different Shared Mailboxes from two different Exchange accounts, I think that might be impossible. I can't find a way to resolve this, except if you remove all Exchange accounts *except* the one you want to use to send via the Shared Mailbox, send an email from that box, then add the other accounts back in, then the shared mailbox does still appear in the 'From' dropdown for future use. Seems like the system gets confused by having multiple Exchange accounts to the system. However once you select the address and send an email, it's not 'kept' in the dropdown.
The 'From' field appears automatically (which is helpful), and the dialog allows you to select which account you want to send 'from'.
However, if there are multiple Exchange accounts configured in the Outlook profile, it doesn't work. This From address will be available to use in future: In those scenarios, you start composing an email, go to 'Options' and enable the 'From' field, and you can select another From address. I found if there is only one Exchange account added the Outlook profile, then it will work fine. I've just had the same experience here, and this was the cause for us. So the issue was with an outlook Appdata file however I am not sure which one was at fault. After logging back in the issue no longer exists! However I though the appdata was the right place to look so I renamed the users profile to. I tried recreating the outlook profile and renaming the files within the users local appdata but unfortunately it did not resolve the issue. \outlook.old and re-run Outlook (creating a new profile and new address book files? As i know the recipient autocorrect lives in there so maybe the from cache does too.? Maybe try closing outlook and Skype4Bus if you have it open and rename the %localappdata%\microsoft\outlook folder to. The Caching of From addresses works even if you do not have send-as permissions. This means the end user has to manually type the address in every time
When I add it to the from field it allows us to send an email as the shared mailbox but doesn't save to the list for next time. The shared mailbox is appearing in outlook as it usually would but It doesn't show in the From list automatically. The 365 account already has View and Send As permission setup on 365 Kyle.Williams wrote:Is it managed by o365 admin portal?
